A Metatrader 4 indicator with a non-conventional design, that allows You to identify the market speed, changing tick by tick.
Why non-conventional?

The speedOmeter indicator works independently from any timeframe.
- The calculation of the market speed is based on the last tick data in order to achieve the most accurate results.*
- The displayed unit is TICKS per SECOND.
- The indicator gauge is scaled up to 3.0 ticks/second, however there is also a line chart available with no upper limit.The 3 Ticks/Second has been found to be sufficient to identify drops and spikes in the speed of the market. Current practice shows that over 3 Ticks/Second every market is over-volatile and trading should be avoided even for the experienced scalpers.
- The speed of the instruments can be very different, therefore no recommendation for the critical levels is available. You must use it on your favourite instruments, and identify the most important levels yourself.
*The calculation is based on the elapsed time between the last tick and a user defined tick, in a user defined tick distance from the last tick. This settings is very similar to the “Period” setting used by other indicators. The lower the Period setting is, the more sensitive the indicator becomes.

Volume shows only the number of ticks from the start of a bar.
- Volume starts to recount the ticks when a new bar appears on the chart.
- If you turn your terminal on and see that the volume is high on the current bar, you can not be sure if the market is still volatile enough to get in. Maybe the market was very volatile only at the beginning of the bar, and its slow again.
